Akkin and Nikku Learn to Cross the Road
One sunny morning, Akkin and little Nikku were going to the park with Mummy.
As they reached the roadside, Nikku saw the park across the street and got excited.
He started to move forward, but Akkin quickly held his hand and said,
âWait, Nikku! We canât just run across. We must look and listen first.â
Mummy smiled and explained,
âFirst, we stand on the footpath. Then we look right, look left, and look right again.
If the road is clear, and the pedestrian signal is green, then we walkânever runâholding hands.â
Akkin held Nikkuâs hand tightly. Together they looked both ways, waited for the green signal, and walked safely across the zebra crossing.
At the park, Nikku said,
âAkkin, you saved me from running into danger!â
Akkin laughed,
âWe both learned todayâsafety first!â
Lesson:
- Always stop at the footpath before crossing.
- Look right, left, and right again.
- Cross only when itâs safe or the pedestrian light is green.
- Hold an elderâs hand if youâre small.
